In 2006 Nyama Catering broadened their horizons through entering the Big Event Market. Nyama purchased a Mobile Catering Unit gave it some African flavour, called it 'Mama Afrika's Kitchen" and started showing the world of events what traditional South African cuisine is all about!
"Mama Afrika's Kitchen" can cater at events such as: Music Festivals, Charity Events, Air Shows, Trade Shows, Sport Events, Regattas, Golf Day's, Flower Shows, Carnivals, Fun Days and Community Fairs.
Anything from 500 - 20 000 attendance is what we are aiming to cater for.

Mama Afrika's Kitchen: The Menu
- The Durban Bunny Chow - bunny chow is a hollowed-out quarter bread loaf, filled with cape malay mince meat curry including a vegetarian option with bean curry. [£3.95]
- Ghetto Getsby - French Bread Roll stuffed with fried chips, diced vienna, salad and choice of condiments, again a vegetarian option is available where the diced vienna will be substituted with diced veggie quorn sausage. [£3.95]
- Oudshoorn's Ostrich Sosatie - An ostrich kebab skewer with a dried apricot and curry sauce; with veggie option also available [£3.95]
- Traditional Boerewors Roll - Boerewors (south african style Lamb and Beef mixed sausage) served in a roll with tomato & onion relish [£3.95]
- Rainbow Chicken Burger - grilled chicken fillet with unique south african chili basting served with grilled pineapple, cheese and salad in a ciabatta roll [£3.95]
- Lamb on a Spit and then in a roll - served with mint sauce [£3.95]
- Whole Hog Roast in a roll - served with apple sauce [£3.50]
- Additional items will include: South African confectionery i.e chocolates + chips + cool drinks Biltong (South African dried cured meat similar to beef jerky) Droewors (Dried South African Sausage)
